The McCredie Insurance Agency is a family business. The company is now managed by Todd McCredie and his father, Dave McCredie. With years of experience and consistency, our staff will provide you with high quality service.
The McCredie Insurance Agency is composed of a knowledgeable, experienced and ethical staff. Our goal is to advise clients how to best manage their risks and to act as an efficient, responsible intermediary for both our company and clients.
We want to keep up our tradition of respect and ethics within our industry and community. Maintaining an honest profit with respect to our ethics for our agency and companies is very important to us. To do this, we educate our staff and producers in the technicalities of insurance and sales processes.
The McCredie Insurance Agency was started in 1919 as a subsidiary of the Piper Realty Company. In 1947 Norman McCredie joined the Agency as the manager. The Agency had experienced steady growth in business throughout the fifties and sixties. With this growth the agency brought on more staff including David S. McCredie as the manager, and John Nieman as the Personal Lines Manager and Treasurer. In 1974 Thomas Dawson joined as an underwriter and sales associate for Commercial Business to later become Vice-President of the Agency.
In the mid–1970s we saw our commercial lines volume become an ever-increasing portion of our total business. In addition, personal lines saw a large growth pattern under the direction of John Nieman. In the late Eighties the new age of computers allowed the agency to use a new process for managing our clients business. In 1992 Todd McCredie joined the agency and began to increase the aviation department and learn the agency's business model.
The mid 1990’s –2000 saw the company streamline its workflows and increase in size. In 2012 we changed our company name from Piper McCredie to McCredie Insurance Agency and we continue to offer quality service in all areas of insurance.
